Thanks for the post. The hoops are actually installed by the council, so they wouldn&#039;t be ripping them out! 

Also shear nuts are actually very difficult to remove, drilling through all four bolts takes a very long time, whereas a thief can usually defeat someone&#039;s lock in minutes.

At the same time, the product has to be designed so that it can removed by contractors when signposts are replaced, so shearnuts seem to be the best solution so far, short of welding hoops to the post!
